it’s just past midday.
the adieu
in a milieu
of hues
linger in the orange.
the seas
of leaves
sit still
on the edges
of the branches.
there is a luminescence.
in the absence.
of the stress
to stay.
and it is so beautiful.

watching the shake
as it comes.
watching the break
as it falls.
watching the less
become more.
and still never
be ready for it.

wavered in bustling rooms.
as chairs sank
and walls bled
and hearts drowned.
and there was a way
the world fell still.
and rose.
beneath.
all at once.
